# Set up your store

Your store is your shop on the marketplace. A business has one. You set it up once, and you come
back to it when your delivery terms or your prices change.

<a id="create-the-store"></a>
## Create the store

1. Open **Online Store** in the sidebar, then **Setup**. It opens on the **Store** tab.
2. Click **New**.
3. Fill in the store:
- **Store link**: your address on the marketplace, the part you share with buyers, such as
`dar-el-hana`. Leave it empty and it is made from the store's name when you save: *Dar El
Hana* becomes `dar-el-hana`, with a number added if another store already has it, and a name
with no Latin letters gives `shop`. To choose your own, use lowercase letters, digits and
single hyphens, from 3 to 40 characters. Another store cannot already have it, and a few
     words belong to the marketplace itself. You can change the link while the store is a draft;
**it is fixed once the store opens**, because buyers will have shared it.
- **Name**: the name buyers read.
- **Contact phone** and **Contact email**: where buyers reach you. The phone may be a shop line
rather than the one on your letterhead.
- **Warehouse**: where the store's stock is counted from.
- **Price list**: the prices the store sells at. Leave it empty to sell at your default price
     list.
- **Tax-inclusive prices**: tick it if the price list's prices already include `TVA`. Buyers
always see prices with `TVA` included either way.
4. Click **Save**. The store is created as a **Draft**: buyers cannot see it yet.

<a id="what-buyers-read"></a>
## Write what buyers read

The **For buyers** section holds three texts, each with one box per language:

- **About the store**: a few sentences about your shop.
- **Delivery terms**: where you deliver, how, at what fee and how fast.
- **Return policy**: how a buyer returns a product, exchanges it or is refunded.

Click **Edit**, write each text in the languages you sell in, French and Arabic for most shops,
and **Save**. A buyer reads the text in their own language, and the French one when you left
their language empty. The law asks for the delivery terms and the return policy on every offer, so
the store will not open without them.

**Unreviewed translations** decides what buyers read when a product's name has a translation that
nobody has marked reviewed yet: ticked, they read the translation; left empty, they read the
product's name as you typed it.

<a id="legal-information"></a>
## Your legal information

The **Legal information** section shows what buyers will read about who sells: your legal name,
your `NIF`, your `RC` or your artisan card number, and your address. It comes from your
[organization profile](../getting-started/organization-profile.html), so you fill it in there,
once, for your documents and your store alike. **Complete the organization profile** opens it.

A craftsman registered with the chamber of crafts has an **artisan card number** instead of an
`RC`. The store needs one of the two.

<a id="open-your-store"></a>
## Open your store

A store opens from its page. In the status line at the bottom, click **Open**, the step after
**Draft**.

1. The dialog first lists anything the law still asks for: the `NIF`, the `RC` or the artisan card
number, and the address on the organization profile; the contact phone, the delivery terms and
the return policy on the store. Each line from the profile opens it. Fill in the store's own on
this page, with **Edit**. The store cannot open while anything is missing.
2. When nothing is missing, the dialog asks you to confirm that the store sells nothing law 18-05
forbids online: gambling, betting and lotteries; alcohol and tobacco; medicines; goods infringing
intellectual property; anything else the law forbids or that needs a notary. Tick the box
yourself; nobody ticks it for you.
3. Click **Open the store**. The store is now **Open**, and its link is fixed.

To take the store off the marketplace for a while, click **Paused**. To bring it back, click **Open**
again and **Reopen the store**: the same checks run, because the profile may have changed, but you
are not asked to confirm what the store sells a second time.

<a id="if-your-store-is-suspended"></a>
## If your store is suspended

The platform can suspend a store that breaks the rules, for instance one selling goods the law
forbids online. A suspended store is off the marketplace at once. Everyone who can see the store is
told in their inbox, and the store's page shows the reason at the top.

While it is suspended, the store cannot be edited, paused or reopened: it is kept as it was, so the
reason can be checked. Only the platform can reinstate it, and it then returns to where it was,
open or paused.

## Who can set it up

The organization owner can do everything. To hand the store to someone else without the till or the
payments, give them the built-in **Online store manager** role: it sets up the store and keeps the
products' photos and translated names, and it reads the stock, the price lists and your organization
profile without changing them. See [Roles and permissions](../access-control/roles-and-permissions.html).
