# Payroll book

Algerian law asks every employer to keep a **payroll book**, numbered and initialled by the
court clerk before anything is written in it, and to show it to the labour inspector on request.
Beelocity prints it from your closed months, with the totals page that goes into the initialled
book.

Open **Payroll › Declarations** and click the **Payroll book** tab. Choose the period in **From**
and **To** — the page
opens on the year so far — and the **Document language**. The personnel register and the
paid-leave register print from Human Resources: see [Legal registers](../hr/legal-registers.html).

## Print the payroll book

The **payroll book** lists every payslip of every closed month in the period, element by element,
as the law asks: the person, the month, their post, the base salary, the bonuses and allowances,
the overtime, and the social-security and income-tax deductions, with the gross and the net. Print
it under **Payroll book**.

- **Only closed months are in it.** A month you are still working on can change, and the book
must not be corrected once written.
- **The law lets this print complete the book.** A business that keeps its pay on a computer
keeps, in the initialled payroll book, only each element's total for the period, and the
detailed record completes it. Every print says so under the title.
- **A long book is printed in parts.** One payroll book prints at most 600 payslips — a year for a
business of fifty people, a quarter for one of two hundred. A longer period is refused with the
number of payslips it holds; print it a quarter or a month at a time.

Printing it needs access to payroll.

## Print the payroll book's totals

The **payroll book totals** are what goes into the initialled payroll book when your pay is kept in
Beelocity: for the closed months of the period, each pay element's total — the base salary, each
allowance, the overtime, the absences — and then the gross, the social-security contributions, the
income tax, social works and the net, each with how many people it covers. Print them under
**Payroll book totals**. The page is short whatever the period, so a year prints at once.
