Every departure owes the person the work certificate. Article 67 of Law 90-11 requires it whatever the reason for leaving, and says what it holds — the hire date, the last day, and every post the person held with the period they held it. The next employer will read it, which is why it says nothing more.
This page starts once the departure is on the register. Recording it — the last day and the reason — is When someone leaves on the Employees page. What the departure is owed in money is its final pay, in Payroll.
Print the work certificate
- Open the person’s record. Their status reads Left.
- Open More actions and choose Print work certificate, or Download work certificate for a file, and choose the language. While the person is employed it is greyed out, beside the employment attestation they can have instead.
The certificate carries:
- your organization’s letterhead, from the organization profile;
- the person’s name, employee number, and date and place of birth where you have them;
- the hire date and the date the employment ended;
- a table of the job titles held, each with its period — 1 September 2024 to 31 December 2025, then the next;
- the place and date it was issued, and a space for your signature and stamp.
It deliberately leaves out the reason for leaving and any salary. The law asks for neither, and a cause printed on a letter the next employer reads would be a reference nobody asked for.
While the person is still employed, the same button prints their employment attestation instead. The two letters never apply at the same time.
When Beelocity refuses because a day has no job title
The certificate has to list a post for every day of the employment. If a day has none — somebody was put on the register without a job title, or an earlier title was never entered — Beelocity refuses and names the first day that is missing. Open the person’s Job titles held tab, add the title they held from that day, and print again. See The job titles someone has held.
Somebody who left and came back
The certificate covers the person’s latest employment: from the hire date of their latest return to the day they last left.
